Monkey Records is a genre-defying independent record label, founded mid-2000 by musician/producer Nigel Braddock, dedicated to releasing and promoting innovative New Zealand music both at home and internationally. Our catalogue contains some of the most diverse and interesting music to come out of Aotearoa in the last few years and currently stands at 38 releases and counting. Day of my Escape
In the way that Chris Hurn’s infectious new single ‘Day of my Escape’ is not your typical upbeat pop song, the latest collaboration with director Aaron Ly is not your typical music video. Filmed in Ohariu Valley, near Wellington, the music video portrays Chris as a ragged vagabond trapped in a pillory, situated in the middle of nowhere.
